The SES group of companies has announced that, effective April 1 2020, Edward Pacelli, PE, LEED AP, will assume the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the SES companies based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

Basil Skelton, President and CEO, sees the position as necessary to effectively help manage the continued growth and success of the SES companies. Since 2006, when the founding company with approximately 45 employees was purchased by BBNC, the group has grown to 11 companies with over 360 employees. The companies focus on construction, fuels, and environmental business lines and five of the companies are certified in the SBA’s 8(a) program.

Ed’s 18-year construction industry career includes the past eight years as Senior Program Manager, Project Executive, and Director of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Operations for SES companies. After completing his BS in Industrial Engineering at Clemson University in 2000, Ed went to work for Carrier Corporation, where he spent a successful decade in the roles of Account/Program Manager, Account Executive, and Mechanical Sales Engineer. He received his MBA in 2006.

With the SES companies Ed has been instrumental in helping steer the growth of the construction business line, with oversight of all mechanical scope on construction projects across the US and overseas. He coordinates with the MEP design teams to develop design strategies for mechanical and electrical systems that provide high performance and sustainable facilities while balancing performance with occupant comfort, health and safety, and ensures compliance with military building standards, the client’s project requirements, and other higher-level mandates, codes and regulations.

Ed and his wife, Jill, have three young children and currently reside in Charlotte, North Carolina. The family will be moving to Tennessee in the near future in order for him to assume his duties as COO from the SES group’s corporate headquarters. BBNC and the SES companies are excited that Ed has accepted this new role and look forward to working with him in this capacity where his initial responsibilities will include leading the SES companies’ Safety Group as well as the SES Shareholder Employability Outreach Initiative.
